Cameron WardCameron Matthew Ward was a bright, compassionate, and deeply talented student in UVU's Musical Theatre program.

With his baritone voice and commanding presence, he owned the stage as iconic characters like Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Billy in Bright Star, and Gleb in Anastasia and he acted in over 50 productions starting at the age of 7.

Cameron performed in the UVU Sundance production of Newsies in Summer 2024. He also performed in the final two productions at Hale Center Theatre Orem, My Fair Lady and A Christmas Carol at the end of 2024.

Cameron died by suicide on January 19, 2025, at the age of 21, before he could complete his BFA degree.

This scholarship honors Cameron's life and spirit by supporting students who share his passion for musical theatre and acting so their stories, like his, can be seen and heard.

UVU's Musical Theatre program includes more than 150 students pursuing their passion for performance. Many students in the arts face significant financial barriers, with limited access to scholarships compared to other fields. This fund honors Cameron by helping those students stay in school and thrive.
