Opportunity

UVU prepares the 2nd most educators in Utah and is moving toward being the leader. The educator attrition rate in Utah is 50% over 5 years. UVU is helping students be more prepared to enter the workforce and partnering with districts to provide training for teachers resulting in better retention and effectiveness.

Need

• $65,000 annually - $1,625,000 endowment to establish a STEM Creative Learning & Teaching Innovation Endowment
• $40,000 annually - $1,000,000 endowment to establish a First-generation and Diversity in Teaching Initiative Endowment
• $4,250,000 to construct an Innovation Lounge & Future Educator Success Center

Impact

• Triple the number of K-12 students and in-service teachers who engage in technology integrative practices through the STEM Creative Learning Studio
• Increase matriculated student diversity by 10 to 15 percent
• Increase retention of students who declare education majors
