Introducing the UVU & FanX Studios Partnership

Through a unique collaboration with UVU’s Innovation Academy and FanX Studios, UVU is poised to create the next generation of filmmakers, writers, and creative minds right here in Utah.

With a strong emphasis on cultivating local talent, the goal of this partnership is to create pathways for UVU students to break into the entertainment industry, whether they're studying film, creative writing, digital media, or any aspect of storytelling.

FanX Studios, a production and distribution company connected to the widely known FanX Convention, was founded by industry professionals Brent Baum, CEO, and Jonathan Schwartz, Chief Creative Officer.

Because of their roots in Utah, Brent and Jonathan are passionate about nurturing homegrown talent, and UVU is proud to serve as the connection point.

  • DGM 350R Pitch Class: A 3-credit course designed to help students sell their ideas.
  • The UVU-FanX Studios Writer Room: Students from the Pitch Class can apply to the Writer’s Room, where they’ll work closely with FanX Studios to develop their craft and take their ideas to Hollywood.
  • Professional Scriptwriter Course, Management Consulting Classes, and other exciting courses under development.
