 Why IRB?

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a committee mandated by federal law to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects participating in research activities. The IRB achieves this primary function by educating researchers. The IRB assesses the risks and benefits associated with a particular study, so that they can decide if the study is ethically and legally sound.

Return to Campus - IRB mitigation strategies during Covid-19.

The UVU IRB will resume approving limited research activities involving person-to-person contact given the current Covid-19 situation. Please be aware that this is not a return to normal operations but an intermittent approval process which could return to either normal or a complete ban depending on future developments of the pandemic.  Please carefully read the IRB mitigation strategies during Covid-19 information before submitting and/or continuing your research protocol.
