Academic Scholarship

Selection Criteria:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Student must have completed 2 regular non-ESL semesters prior to application deadline. Preference will be given to students with more completed semesters at UVU.
  • Minimum 12 credit enrollment per semester in degree seeking non-ESL UVU courses during the term of the scholarship.
  • Other financial aid and/or paying resident tuition will be taken into account when making awards.
  • Maintain F-1 status.

Preferred Criteria:

Active involvement as a volunteer with International Student Council, with an international on-campus club, or involvement with any other campus global engagement initiatives. Letters of recommendation detailing this type of activity.

  3. Write a one page self introduction. Please include your academic and professional goals as well as any experience you have had with community service, student government, or extra curricular activities.

International Student Council Scholarship

Description:

The International Student Council (ISC) is a mentoring organization. The mission of the ISC is to foster international student success.

Selection Criteria:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Minimum 12 credit enrollment per semester in degree seeking non-ESL UVU courses during the term of the scholarship.
  • Maintain F-1 Status
  • Other financial aid and/or paying resident tuition will be taken into account when making awards.
  • Two semesters active involvement on an International Student Council mentoring group.
  • Required: Fall and Spring Semester ISC Mentoring Class, and some Summer tasks needed.

Selection Methodology:

New ISC members are selected by a vote of ISC members, followed by a final confirmation by the ISC Advisor.

The following factors and information are used in making the selection including but not limited to:

  1. Overall fit with the ISC’s culture and mentoring goals
  2. Ability to serve as a leader and mentor
  3. Feedback from existing ISC members
  4. Number of semesters at UVU
  5. Language needs

ISEP — International Student Employment Program

What is ISEP?

The International Student Employment Program (ISEP) is a unique UVU work program that provides international students funding that is earned through on-campus student employment and paid at an hourly rate.

Requirements for Eligibility:

  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • Enrollment in regular non-ESL classes or in-status vacation.
  • Maintain F-1 status
  • Other financial aid and/or paying resident tuition will be taken into account when making awards.
