UVU cybersecurity team earns first place at the National Information Assurance Training and Education Center’s Invitational Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition

Another First Place Win

The UVU cybersecurity team earned first place at the National Information Assurance Training and Education Center’s Invitational Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition at Idaho State University on Saturday. This competition pitted 15 teams from eight institutions against a team of skilled attackers. The student teams had to defend the network from the attackers while continuing to maintain business operations over the course of eight hours.

This is the second year UVU has taken first place at this competition. The next major competition for the team will be during spring semester where they will defend their title for the Rocky Mountain Invitational Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition and vie for a slot in the national competition.
