A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows a computer to create a private connection over
the Internet to the UVU Network. Using VPN technology, you can connect to the university network from anywhere
off campus and securely access UVU resources as if you were physically on the UVU campus network.
For you to get access to the Banner INB system, shared network drives, and remote student classroom resources a VPN account is required. A VPN account can also allow you to create a Remote Desktop connection to a computer physically on UVU's campus.
To gain access to Virtual Private Network (VPN) resources, follow this link:

When your VPN access is granted, you will receive an automated email message providing you with instructions on installing the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client on either your Windows or Mac computer.

I need student VPN access, do I have to request it every semester at UVU?
Student VPN access is granted per semester. Student VPN access will automatically stop at the end of each semester. Consecutive semester student VPN access requires agreeing again to the Campus VPN policy in myUVU at the beginning of each semester.
A different level of VPN access may be required to securely connect to other network
resources, depending on the need and job responsibilities of the employee.
Complete the online DCVPN Access Request Form, providing as much detail as possible about the network resources you need to access.
