The nationally ranked Utah Valley University rodeo team will host their annual rodeo on October 6 and 7 at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. The two-day competition will feature popular events like Bull Riding and Barrel Racing.

Colleges and universities throughout the Rocky Mountain Region, including Southern Utah University, Utah State University, Idaho State, Snow College, and Weber State University, have been invited to compete. As members of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, this rodeo is essential for students hoping to qualify for nationals.

“There are only 10 qualifying rodeos throughout the season,” said Shane Draper, Head Coach of the UVU Rodeo team. “If you miss one it is hard to make up and qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo.”

Qualifying events will include:

  • Bull Riding
  • Bareback Riding
  • Steer Wrestling
  • Saddle Bronc Riding
  • Goat Tying
  • Barrel Racing
  • Tie-Down Roping
  • Breakaway Roping

Tickets are available for $5 at UVU’s Campus Connection or at the rodeo gates.
