'Weeks of Welcome' kick off 2018 Fall Semester at UVU

Students arriving at Utah Valley University this month will have 10 days of activities lined up for them to get acquainted with the school and each other.

The "Weeks of Welcome" begin on Tuesday, Aug. 21, with a chalk art festival and end with a huge bingo event on Aug. 31, with lots to do in between.

Shayla Shaw Northcott, student activities vice president for the UVU Student Association, said attendance at Week of Welcome activities seems to follow registration and overall numbers of students, thus, a large group is expected this year. She said more than 2,300 attended the Green Out Dance last year, for example.

"All of these activities included students in the planning process, with many being completely planned by student leaders," Northcott said. "Students should attend these events because it is a great way to meet new people, make lasting memories, and become proud Wolverines."
