UVU Student Nurses Association is a preprofessional association for nursing students, a constituent member of National Student Nurses Association and Utah Student Nurses Association. UVUSNA provides opportunities for professional networking, education, and service. Pre-nursing students are also welcome as members of UVUSNA.

Currently, nursing is the largest health care profession in the United States. In 2016, there were 2,955,200 million Registered Nurses (RNs). Nurses are the largest single part of any hospital staff. They are the primary providers of hospital patient care and deliver most of the care in nursing homes and home health. The need for skilled, knowledgeable and caring nurses is continually on the rise.
The job outlook for employment of registered nurses is expected to grow 15 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. Growth will occur primarily because of technological advancements; an increased emphasis on preventative care; and the large, aging baby-boomer population who will demand more healthcare services as they live longer and more active lives. The mean salary for BSN educated nurses in the metropolis areas of Utah is $57,782.00.
