For nine decades, kids have discovered the symphony orchestra through Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, the tale of a young boy who captures a menacing wolf with the help of his animal friends. Music and narration combine to vividly illustrate the adventure — from the chirping bird (played by the flute), to the grumbling grandfather (bassoon), to Peter’s own heroic melody singing out in the strings. It’s the perfect way to nurture a love of orchestral music in young listeners!

This concert is roughly 60 minutes, which is perfect for wiggly bodies under 10.
