HOW THE ARTICULATION CREDIT WORKS

Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) students can receive UVU credit for non-credit coursework completed at the MTECH through the Credit Articulation Agreement. This satisfies a requirement toward an AAS Degree in Technology. Eligibile MTECH programs listed below:

  • Automated Manufacturing (900 Hours)
  • Automotive Technology (1350 Hours)
  • Diesel Technology (930 Hours)
  • Mobile Development (900 Hours)
  • Precision Machining (960 Hours)
  • Web Programming & Development (900 Hours)
  • Welding Technology I (900 Hours)
  • Welding Technology II (1500 Hours)

Students can satisfy 30 UVU credits for non-credit coursework completed at Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) through the Credit Articulation Agreement. This can then be applied to an AAS two-year degree in Technology.

Students who want to transfer from MTECH to UVU must meet UVU admission requirements and deadlines, provide an official transcript, and pay all application and admission fees associated with getting UVU credit and acceptance. MTECH students must meet with the UVU program advisor and complete an AAS Technology Advising Sheet. Once this document is signed, it becomes the articulation contract between the student and UVU. Students will have five years in which to start the AAS Technology program using the MTECH Certificate of Completion (COC). After five years, students will be evaluated for admission on a case-by-case basis only.

EXPAND YOUR CAREER POTENTIAL WITH AN AAS DEGREE

The UVU Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Technology is ideal for MTECH students because it is designed for individuals working in a technical area who have considerable work experience and/or have specialized certifications, licenses, and apprenticeships.

Building upon the specializations students receive from MTECH, the AAS Degree in Technology includes core courses to provide fundamental knowledge of the latest technologies and elective courses so students can explore and learn skills across broader technical areas. There is also a required supervisory course where students learn skills to manage workers. Students who graduate with an AAS Degree in Technology can also continue their education by going on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Technology Management.

Before admission to the AAS Technology Program, MTECH students must meet with the program advisor at UVU and complete an AAS Technology Advising Sheet. Once this document is signed, it becomes the articulation contract between the student and UVU.
