Cloud Storage Migration

Data Migration

Faculty, staff, and students will enjoy the streamlined efficiency of a unified platform for file storage and sharing across the University. We'll walk you through every step of the migration to make sure nothing is missed or lost. Consolidation of various storage platforms to one is both financially beneficial and will support our legal requirements to keep UVU's data properly protected.

Multi-Factor Authentication

Image description

UVU is introducing multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all students. Student logins will be protected by a two-step process beginning on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022. This change will further ensure that students’ private data (including email, classes, housing, banking, medical, and other sensitive information) is secure.

Students can voluntarily opt in to MFA from now until Nov. 16.

Passwordless Login

Data Migration

Your login process will be simplified and secured through the use of passwordless authentication. You can avoid repeatedly typing your username and password, and you'll even be able to skip the extra multi-factor authentication (MFA) step. You can choose one of several intuitive, flexible, passwordless options that will streamline your access to online university resources.

Teams Voice Telephony

An old fashioned telephone
Whether working on campus or remotely, faculty and staff will enjoy a modern voice communication system with integrated collaboration tools. Dx will replace our current phone system with voice communication through MS Teams. This will allow placing and receiving phone calls via any device that runs MS Teams (laptop, desktop, smartphone, or tablet) from anywhere with internet connectivity as if placed or received on campus. Implementation may be delayed due to equipment shortages. For updates on this and other services, join the UVU Dx Info Team.

Outlook for Students

A mailbox
Students will receive new email addresses in the form uvid@uvu.edu. This significant change will enable students to interact more fully with Microsoft tools such as Outlook email, calendars, and Teams. Students will no longer use email addresses in the form of my.uvu.edu. Email address personalization will become available within a few weeks. For updates on this and other services, join the UVU Dx Info Team.
