My first Rotary event took place at Orem's Outback Steakhouse during the lunch hour and left a strong impression on me. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, filled with friendly members who clearly shared a common purpose—to serve and uplift the community. It was inspiring to see people from different backgrounds united by a desire to make a positive impact.

One of the highlights of the event was a presentation by Katie Bunnell, President of the Live Your Dream Foundation. She shared the mission of her organization, which focuses on empowering single mothers to pursue higher education by providing scholarships and support. Katie’s personal story was moving and powerful, and it was clear that her passion for giving back stems from lived experience. Her example reminded me of the ripple effect one person can have when they dedicate themselves to helping others.

I attended the event alongside fellow Rotarians from the Lindon/Orem area as well as members of the UVU Rotary branch, including Louyoko, Xander, and Totally. It was a great opportunity to connect with both seasoned and newer members of the Rotary community and to witness firsthand the spirit of service that defines this organization.
