2025 United Nations Secretary General’s report on Sustainable Mountain Development Highlights UVU

The United Nations Secretary Generals’ (UNSG) triennial report on Sustainable Mountain Development (SMD) from July 24, 2025, highlighted Utah Valley University (UVU) for advocating with Osh Technological University (OTU) for mountain women’s rights at the 67^th , 68^th , and 69^th sessions of the Commission on the Status of Women. This was the seventh time UVU was featured by the UNSG report on SMD (Page11).

This document is prepared by the United Nations secretariat for a distribution among the Permanent Missions of member-states accredited at the UN. They will adopt a Resolution on SMD during the new session of the UN General Assembly.
