Human Resource Management

UPON COMPLETION OF THE UVU HR PROGRAM, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  1. Understand and champion the role of HRM in strategy formulation, development, implementation, and evaluation. 
  2. Understand the major legal theories, policies, laws, and programs most applicable to effective HRM. 
  3. Understand and be able to implement important policies, strategies, and methods of effective job design, recruitment, selection, retention, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, HRIS, and people analytics.
  4. Understand the important factors in the management of HRM strategically and internationally.
  5. Analyze and respond to issues, problems, and the opportunities faced in organizations through practicing the following skills: analytical thinking, problem-solving, ethical awareness and decision-making, oral and written communication, enhancing abilities to integrate theory and practice, and teamwork skills. 

Hospitality Management

UPON COMPLETION OF THE UVU HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  1. Demonstrate effective use of analytical and quantitative skills to analyze and develop successful positions in their positions of responsibility.
  2. Demonstrate effective oral and written skills in all communications.
  3. Apply leadership principles as participants in a diverse and global environment.   
  4. Explain ethical considerations relevant to hospitality management dilemmas and to evaluate alternative courses of action.
