dōTERRA Makes Second-Largest Gift UVU Has Ever Received

dōTERRA announced the second-largest gift Utah Valley University has ever received at a press conference Sept. 27, 2019. The company’s gift of $17.7 million will improve the student experience across the University, supporting athletics, the arts, the Center for Constitutional Studies, the Women’s Success Center, and scholarships. The largest gift UVU has ever received was the $20-million gift from the Woodbury family establishing the Woodbury School of Business in 2007.

  • dōTERRA’s cornerstone gift will help UVU realize the dream of a new Student-Athlete Wellness Building. The building will be constructed between the UCCU Center and dōTERRA Field at the UCCU Ballpark and will solve many of UVU’s current challenges in training, supporting, and educating athletes to the best of our ability.
  • In recognition of dōTERRA’s gift, the UVU baseball field will be named dōTERRA Field at UCCU Ballpark for 10 years. dōTERRA’s gift will provide for much-needed renovations to the park’s playing surface, making it more playable in our climate and increasing the amount of time athletes can spend on the field.
  • Lockhart Arena hosts UVU volleyball, wrestling, and women’s basketball, as well as community events. dōTERRA’s gift will upgrade Lockhart Arena with a new dōTERRA Performance Center, providing top-of-the-line spaces for athletes to prepare for and recover from practice and competition.
  • With the 10-year naming of the dōTERRA Wolverine Training Dome, dōTERRA is providing crucial financial resources across the gamut of UVU athletics, helping to keep all of our varsity sports financially healthy.
  • UVU basketball games are some of the University’s most exciting and popular events, drawing large and exuberant crowds. The dōTERRA Basketball Endowment will provide ongoing financial support to both the men’s and women’s basketball teams, helping to cover the costs of these programs.
  • The UVU men’s and women’s track and field teams as well as cross country teams have been highly successful in the Western Athletic Conference, sending many athletes to NCAA Regionals. dōTERRA’s gift of UVU swag will help offset the costs of these programs by providing athletic gear to our student-athletes.
  • Scholarships not only ease the financial burden students carry but can make it possible for students to graduate sooner and with less debt. dōTERRA’s gift will provide Women’s Success Center scholarships as well as scholarships for other qualifying students.
  • dōTERRA’s support will secure the future of the UVU Center for Constitutional Studies by helping the University endow a faculty chair and a directorship for the center and by providing ongoing support for its programs — including exclusive, cutting-edge internships.
  • dōTERRA’s sponsorship of the first five seasons of The Noorda Center for the Performing Arts will enable the School of the Arts to bring nationally acclaimed performers to UVU and Utah Valley. This season’s lineup includes the Utah premiere of Bernadette Peters, six-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and the Utah Symphony.
  • By naming dōTERRA Auditorium in the UVU College of Science, dōTERRA will support faculty-mentored student research in biochemistry.
  • Finally, dōTERRA’s generosity will provide every UVU athlete with top-tier dōTERRA essential oil products and therapies to assist with recovery and to complement the treatment of injuries.
