Featuring three of Sibelius’ most beloved works in the staple classical repertoire, his patriotic Finlandia, his famous Violin Concerto, with Utah's own world class violinist Aubree Oliverson performing! In the same concert will also be all-time classic Sibelius’ Second Symphony, Finnish Ambassador Salmimies from Los Angeles is slated to attend the event.

Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.

Join us for our final wind symphony performance of the year!

A wind symphony provides all voices from a traditional orchestra using only wind and percussion instruments. That is, there are no string sections: violins, violas, and cellos. This is done by adding many more brass and woodwind players and percussionists playing both pitched and rhythm instruments. The sound of a wind symphony is unique. Some feel it has the characteristic sound of a large and powerful pipe organ. Yet the music is an artistically combined sound. Individual musicians intone their own separate "pipes" and percussionists create sounds striking a wide variety of instruments. This carefully blended interpretation breathes life into the composer's work, which in turn communicates in a way that only fine music can. Enjoy UVU’s Wind Symphony tonight for a unique classical music experience.
