Before You Begin: Required Preparation Steps

  1. Secure an internship opportunity.
    • For personalized help finding opportunities, please contact Alyvia Meyer.
    • You may also search available postings on our Find Internships page.
  2. Secure a PHIL/HUM faculty mentor to guide you throughout your internship (s/he would also be your internship course instructor).
  3. Complete the Internship Orientation.
    • Important: Save your completion code (displayed on-screen and emailed to you). You'll need it for the application.
  4. Prepare the following information (required for the application form):
    • Name and address of Internship Provider/Company
    • Internship Site Supervisor name, email, and phone (the individual employed by your Internship Provider who will mentor you during your experience)
    • Average number of hours that you will work per week
  5. Submit your application using the button below.
    • The form (hosted on Qualtrics) takes about 15–20 minutes if you have your information ready.
    • After submission, allow 2–3 weeks for review. You'll receive approval and registration instructions (including CRN) by email.

Internship Guidelines for Philosophy & Humanities

  • Faculty Mentor: Your selected PHIL/HUM faculty mentor will guide you throughout the internship and serve as your course instructor.
  • Registration: After receiving application approval by email (including CRN), register for the course. You may then access the internship course in Canvas.
