Who Should Enroll

This series is designed with two people in mind. The first is the incoming UVU MBA student who has been directed to complete one or more of these courses before their program begins. The second is the working professional who wants to build or refresh core business skills in accounting, data, or finance without committing to a full degree program. If either description fits you, these courses are exactly what they say they are: practical, focused, and built to move you forward.

Course FAQs

Do I need to take all three courses?

No. Each course is independent and priced individually. Incoming MBA students are typically assigned specific courses based on their academic background. If you're enrolling independently, take only the course or courses most relevant to your goals.

How do I know which course I need?

If you're an incoming UVU MBA student, your program advisor will direct you to the appropriate course or courses. If you're enrolling as a general professional, choose based on the skill area you want to build.

Is there a deadline to complete the courses?

Incoming MBA students should follow the completion deadline provided by UVU's MBA program. For open enrollment students, all coursework must be completed by July 31, 2026.

Can I take these courses even if I'm not in the MBA program?

Absolutely. While these courses are designed to align with MBA-level expectations, they are open to any professional looking to build foundational skills in accounting, data analytics, or finance.

What tools or software will I need?

The Data Analytics course uses Excel and Tableau. The Accounting and Finance courses are primarily concept and case-based.

Why take this course from UVU?

Comparable MBA prep and graduate business foundation courses through other providers typically run $400–$800 per subject. At $295 per course, MBA Foundations delivers focused, practical instruction aligned directly with the demands of UVU's MBA program at a fraction of the cost.
