What happens if my course is cancelled?

Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, you will be notified by phone and email, your course status will be changed to Cancelled, and a refund will be issued.

UVU Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel any course or change course dates, times, locations, or instructors without notice.

Will I receive a reminder before my course begins?

Yes. Email reminders and course updates are sent at least one week before the course begins. Please make sure your email address is correct and check your spam or junk folders in case a message is misdirected.

What should I do if I need help finding my classroom or building?

Please contact our office before your class begins if you are unsure how to find your classroom or building.

How do I know if my registration is complete?

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. You can also check your order status:

Pending – Not Registered Payment has not been received, and you are not officially enrolled. Please call us at 801-863-8012 to complete your payment and secure your spot in the class.

Registered – Your registration is complete, and your payment has been processed. You are officially enrolled, and we look forward to seeing you in class.

How can I learn more about ESL courses or schedule a placement test?

For more information or to schedule a placement test, please contact Karen Munoz, ESL Director, at 801-863-7333.

Placement testing is conducted at 815 West 1250 South in Orem. ESL courses are offered at the Orem and Lehi campuses.

Will courses be held during inclement weather?

Unless UVU officially closes campus, Continuing Education courses will proceed as scheduled.

How can I contact my instructor?

We do not share instructors’ personal contact information. Please call our office, and we will forward your message to the instructor.

Who is eligible to enroll in Continuing Education courses?

UVU Continuing Education courses are intended for adults ages 18 and older. Individuals under age 18 may not enroll in or attend a course unless the course description explicitly states otherwise.

Participation in Youth Programs is based on the grade level the child will enter in the upcoming fall semester.

Continuing Education courses do not provide academic credit, grades, degrees, or continuing education units. Digital certificates of participation are available upon request.

Do I need a parking permit?

A parking permit is not required after 5 p.m. or on weekends in green employee lots or yellow and purple student lots.

Pay lots are located throughout campus and require payment through the Passport Parking app.

What is the refund policy?

We are committed to offering quality courses. If you are unable to attend or are dissatisfied with your experience, please call us at 801-863-8012.

How do I register for a course?

Visit uvu.edu/ce to register online. You may also register by phone or in person. Please register at least one week before the course begins.

Payment is required at the time of registration. Instructors cannot accept payment or reserve seats, even when space remains after a course has started.

Payments cannot be made at the course location. All registrations must be completed through the official registration system to ensure fairness and accurate enrollment tracking.

Registration closes one week before the course start date.

What should I do if my registration is marked as pending?

Please do not leave courses in your shopping cart or abandon your order. If the system times out, your registration may be marked as Pending, and you will no longer be able to complete payment online.

You will need to call us at 801-863-8012 to complete your payment by phone. To avoid delays, complete your registration and payment in one session.

When does registration open for each semester?

Spring courses, January through April: Registration opens in early December.

Summer courses, May through August: Registration opens in late March.

Fall courses, September through December: Registration opens in mid-July.

Is my personal information kept private?

Yes. We do not release personal information about our students.

Are UVU discounts available?

Current UVU faculty, staff, students, retirees, alumni, and their immediate family members receive a $10 discount on eligible Continuing Education courses.

The discount does not apply to travel workshops, professional development courses, online courses, or conferences.

To receive the discount, call 801-863-8012. Discounts cannot be combined with other offers.

How does the waitlist work?

If a course is full, you may request to be added to the waitlist. You must be on the waitlist to be considered for registration if a seat becomes available.

If a spot opens, you will be notified by phone or email and must respond within 24 hours to confirm your registration.

Seats are non-transferable, especially when a course is full and has an active waitlist. Please do not attend a course unless you have been officially registered.

Where can I find the most current course information?

The printed catalog is current as of its printing date. For the most accurate and up-to-date course information, visit uvu.edu/ce.

Youth Programs

How do I know which camp is appropriate for my child’s age?

Camp placement is based on the grade your child is currently enrolled in during the school year or the grade they will enter in the upcoming fall for summer camps.

Can my child stay on campus between their morning and afternoon camps?

Yes, but please note that no supervision is provided during that time.

Will you move my child from one campus location to another?

No. Transportation is not provided. Parents or guardians are responsible for getting their child to the correct location.

Can anyone pick up my child?

Only individuals you have authorized in advance will be allowed to pick up your child.

Can my child bring a friend?

Yes, as long as the friend is registered for the same camp and meets the appropriate age/grade requirements.

Can I stay in the room with my child?

No. For safety, security, and program consistency, parents/guardians are not permitted to remain in the classroom during camp sessions.
