Rocket Altitude Correction System

Rocket Altitude Correction System

Abstract

This project revolves around designing a rocket with the capacity to transport an 8.8 lb payload, reaching a precisely targeted apogee of 10,000 ft, adhering to Spaceport America Cup regulations. Employing collaborative and iterative concept generation, the rocket design was broken down into individual components, including innovative concepts for altitude correction methods. Through discussions and combinations, full concept rockets were developed. The concept selection process involved filtering and scoring matrices aligned with design requirements. In conjunction with the rocket body, an Altitude Control System (ACS) was introduced to regulate altitude accuracy.
