Hollywood Trip

Each Fall students from Utah’s premiere hands-on film school, UVU’s Digital Cinema Production program, spend a week in Hollywood meeting with industry insiders and visiting studios and production companies. This event is strictly for students who have passed portfolio review, and is best for juniors. If you are interested in attending, contact Professor Duane Andersen.

In Los Angeles we visit Disney Studios, Warner Brothers Studio, Sony/Paramount Studios, Paramount Studios, Technicolor, Avid, Arri, LeVarr Burton Kids, and meet with writers, directors, producers, editors and distributors.

Neil-Hiatt

“In my time as a UVU's DGM student I was taught writing, story structure, pre-production, production, post production, and networking all in a hands on environment where I was able to hone my skills on a personal level with my instructors and peers. If I had to do it all over again I would choose UVU DGM every time.”

International Opportunities

UVU’s Digital Cinema Production majors develop a broader sense of the world through travel and video production opportunities outside of Utah Valley. In cooperation with UVU’s Office of Student Involvement opportunities to travel include our annual Hollywood Trip and other opportunities throughout the country. In addition recent student “Capstone Projects” have taken student film crews to France, Italy, The United Kingdom, China, Russia, Namibia, Israel and Tanzania.

UVU offers a student exchange program with St. Pollen’s University outside of Vienna, Austria. Each year two or three of our students spend the first semester of their senior year in Austria and produce their “Capstone” project with film students at St. Pollens. Meanwhile, Austrian students join us in Orem, Utah and help with projects here.
