BIOGRAPHY

As the Director of Proposal Development, Ethan fosters grant-writing training activities among UVU faculty and staff by conducting grant searching and writing workshops, providing targeted and individualized training, hosting guest lectures on related topics, and developing on-line training materials. He helps faculty transition from receiving internal grant funding to obtaining external resources. Ethan coaches and assists with proposal development and provides proposal editing assistance (when given sufficient advanced notice). He orchestrates an annual faculty visit to grant program officers in Washington, D.C. and oversees a peer mentoring and proposal review service. Ethan is the OSP primary point of contact for novice grant writers who are seeking funding for new projects and programs.

Ethan received his PhD in English Rhetoric & Composition from Purdue University in 2013. He has over 15 years experience teaching university students in a range of courses including Grant Writing, Technical Communication, Rhetoric, Ethics, and Science Fiction Literature.
