Dr. Eunmi Joung

Biography


Dr. Eunmi Joung is an assistant professor of the Department of Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her research focuses on mathematics teaching and learning, mathematics education, specifically exploring student learning effectiveness through technology integration, problem-solving, and multiple solution methods. Dr. Joung has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals including School Science and Mathematics, MathAMATYC Educator, Mathematics Teacher_ Learning and Teaching PK-12, and the International Journal of Education in Mathematics, Science, and Technology. She serves as both President-elect of UMATYC and an At-Large Editorial Panel member for MathAMATYC Educator. Her service to the field is extensive. She served as a publications committee member for the School Science and Mathematics Association (SSMA) and currently serves as a reviewer for journals such as Mathematics Thinking and Learning (MTL) and School Science and Mathematics, as well as a proposal reviewer for the American Educational Research Association's (AERA) annual meetings and SSMJ. Dr. Joung is dedicated to advancing mathematics education and has received multiple grants to support her research and teaching, including projects focused on effective teaching approaches.
