Dr. Eunmi Joung

Biography


Dr. Eunmi Joung is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University, with a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her research examines how students learn mathematics, focusing on AI technology integration, video-based assessment methods, and teaching through multiple solution approaches. She has published in respected journals including School Science and Mathematics, MathAMATYC Educator, Mathematics Teacher_ Learning and Teaching PK-12, The International Journal of Education in Mathematics, Science, and Technology, and other international journals. She currently serves as president-elect of UMATYC and as an editorial panel member for MathAMATYC Educator. Dr. Joung contributes extensively to her field through committee work with the School Science and Mathematics Association, reviewing for journals such as Mathematics Thinking and Learning, and evaluating proposals for the American Educational Research Association's annual meetings. She has secured multiple grants to support multiple solution methods and her video-based assessment and continues to advance mathematics education through her research on technology-enhanced learning environments and innovative assessment techniques.
