Through a unique collaboration with UVU’s Office of Engaged Learning and Workforce Development and FanX Studios, UVU is poised to create the next generation of filmmakers, writers, and creative minds right here in Utah.
With a strong emphasis on cultivating local talent, the goal of this partnership is to create pathways for UVU students to break into the entertainment industry, whether they're studying film, creative writing, digital media, or any aspect of storytelling.
FanX Studios, a production and distribution company connected to the widely known FanX Convention, was founded by industry professionals Brent Baum, CEO, and Jonathan Schwartz, Chief Creative Officer.

FanX Studios recently launched a stage division, and it is already producing musicals at the highest level of the theatre industry. It invested in the Broadway revival of “Chess” and the new musical “The Lost Boys” (based on the film of the same name), and those productions recently received a combination of 17 Tony Award Nominations this year."
Through this next evolution in our partnership, FanX Studios will bring top Broadway talent to UVU's School of the Arts and the UVU Noorda Center. This will provide experiential programs for the students, faculty, and local community to work with award-winning professionals via integrated curriculum and performance,” said Brent Baum, FanX Studios founder. “The program will culminate in the UVU Noorda Center hosting the first-ever developmental workshop premiere of ‘HUMBUG! The Musical."
