This semester, UVU students have access to YouScience — a tool designed to help increase student success by identifying your natural aptitudes: the things you're wired to do well, often before you've ever had the chance to try them. It's a way to stop guessing and start making decisions backed by real evidence about your strengths.

That insight can help you in three big ways: choosing or confirming a major, exploring careers that actually fit how your brain works, and even navigating your personal and professional relationships by understanding how you and the people around you naturally operate.

Why Participate?

UVU and YouScience have partnered to expand access of this tool from all Utah high schools to UVU’s campus this semester with one goal in mind: increasing student success. Your participation helps UVU evaluate how well YouScience works for students like you — and whether it should become a lasting part of advising, major exploration, and career guidance at UVU.

If you did not graduate from a Utah high school, you can still participate! We will just need to create you an account so that you can complete your aptitude assessment.

And there's something in it for you: everyone who opts in is entered for a chance to win a variety of prizes, with the grand prize being an iPad.

What Does "Opting In" Mean?

Opting in means allowing UVU to transfer your high school account to the university, giving UVU access to your aptitude results. In return, you get access to YouScience for the rest of this semester — the same tool described above, ready to help you explore your natural aptitudes and apply them to choosing a major, exploring careers, and understanding your personal and professional relationships.

Beyond Opting In

Opting in is just the first step. Want to get the most out of YouScience this semester? Here's how:

  • Take or update your YouScience Aptitudes Assessment. See your full results and how your aptitudes connect to specific majors and careers.
  • Talk with a career counselor. Bring your results in and talk through what they mean for your major and career path.

Winners will be drawn in November and notified through their UVU email.
