AT&T Public Safety Hero Scholarship Application

The AT&T Public Safety Hero Scholarship will be used to award up to $500 to help support underserved and non-traditional students become skilled emergency providers in the community. AT&T Public Safety Hero scholarships will help provide financial assistance to Emergency Services students enabling them to afford books and other necessities. This will help ensure successful attendance and progression, placing students one step closer to completing a degree. Scholarships are awarded to Emergency Services majors who meet the following criteria*:

  1. Must be a student from an underserved and/or non-traditional segment of the population (Female; LGBTQIA; Black; Hispanic: Asian; Native American; Polynesian; Single parent; 25 years of age or older; first-generation student; low income or financial need; or U.S. military veteran).
  2. Must be an Emergency Services (ES) major.
  3. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours in Spring 2019 and be in good academic standing (3.0 or better GPA).
  4. Must write and submit an essay (not to exceed 200 words) explaining why s/he should be awarded this scholarship.
  5. Low-income verified through UVU Financial Aid Services.

*Applicants will be evaluated according to the following rubric:

  • Explains how they plan to become a better skilled emergency provider
  • Explains how the scholarship will help them better afford books and other necessities
  • Explains how the scholarship will help ensure successful attendance and progression, placing them one step closer to completing a degree
