    Sign in with your UV ID and password to open your Scholarship Universe dashboard.
  2. Build your profile
    Answer questions about yourself to build your profile. You may be asked about your academics, activities, background, and goals. The more complete profile you have, the better matches you will have.
  3. Match and apply
    Browse matched scholarships, submit applications, and track everything from your personalized dashboard in Scholarship Universe.

When will I know if I've received a scholarship?

If you have been awarded a scholarship, a notification will be sent via email to your student Outlook email.

How do I accept my scholarship?

Follow the link in the email or log in to Scholarship Universe, go to Awards tab, and go to Outstanding tasks.

Where can I see the scholarships I've been awarded?

In Scholarship Universe, go to Awards, and then go to the Awards tab. You can also view your scholarships in your myUVU portal under Paying for My Education, going to My Financial Aid, and then to the Offer tab.

Where can I find matching questions to answer?

In Scholarship Universe, go to Questions in the far left panel, and click on Answer More Questions in the top right corner.

How do I filter scholarships?

In Scholarship Universe, go to Scholarships and use the filter in the top right corner of the page.

What is the difference between Direct Award and Application-based scholarships?

Direct Award scholarships do not require an application. Students are automatically matched and considered for these scholarships based on their academic profile and eligibility. Application-based scholarships require a separate application. Students must actively apply for these scholarships within Scholarship Universe.

Why should I answer all the matching questions?

The more questions you answer, the more personalized experience you’ll have with scholarship opportunities.

How do I know which scholarships I qualify for?

After completing your profile and answering matching questions, you’ll see a list of matched scholarships under the Matches section on the Scholarships page. Partial matches you may match to but need additional qualifications.

What is an external scholarship?

These are scholarships offered by organizations outside of Utah Valley University, sometimes referred to as third-party scholarships. You may be redirected to their websites to apply.

What happens if I miss the deadline to accept a scholarships

Scholarships not accepted by the deadline will be retracted. Those funds may be awarded to a different student. If you have a scholarship you forgot to accept, contact the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.

When should I check Scholarship Universe

Regularly – ideally weekly. New matching questions or scholarship opportunities may be added throughout the year.

How can I check the status of my application?

On your Scholarship Universe student dashboard, refer to the Your Universe funnel. This will show you the status of all scholarships you have applied for. Additional information for specifics, contact the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.

When will I be notified if I have not been awarded a scholarship I've applied for?

For scholarships that have a February 1st deadline, students will be notified by May. Scholarships with different deadlines will be notified as soon as awards are offered.

If I've received a resident or non-resident waiver and my residency has changed, who do I need to contact to ensure that I have been awarded the correct waiver?

Please contact the Admissions office to ensure your residency is correct in UVU’s records. If you’ve received a resident/non-resident waiver scholarship and no longer qualify for the scholarship because your residency has changed, please contact the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.

What is the status of my third-party scholarship?

Please visit the Cashier’s Office to check the status of your third-party scholarship.

I have a scholarship from outside of UVU. How can I get it applied to my student account?

Please take the cash or check for your scholarship to the Cashier’s Office. They will process the scholarship funds and apply it to your account.

Can I receive multiple tuition waiver scholarships?

Tuition waivers can be awarded up to the full cost of your tuition in a given semester. If the total award amount exceeds the tuition, one or the other may be reduced. Please contact our office if you have further questions about the combination of waivers.
