The police officers who serve across the nation pledge their lives to ensuring the areas in which we live and raise our families remain safe. Because of their commitment, we are able to go about our daily routines knowing that our neighborhoods are in good hands.
It takes extensive training to become a police officer. The Criminal Justice program at Utah Valley University teaches integrity, responsibility, and safety. Help support these dedicated individuals who have a passion for making the world a safer place for everyone by donating today in honor and memory of our fellow police officer, Joseph W. Shinners, who was killed in the line of duty on January 5, 2019.
The Joseph W. Shinners Endowed Scholarship provides financial assistance to current law enforcement officers seeking to further their education by obtaining a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. Your support will provide a way for these brave, dedicated men and women to overcome the financial barriers they face as they work toward furthering their aspirations to serve their communities in the best way possible.
Our goal is to fully endow this scholarship so that it continues to support officers in perpetuity. Your support in helping us reach this goal is much appreciated.
