Firefighting is a strenuous, adrenaline pumping experience. Students train to fight fires and save lives, protect property, and the environment. Students who experience more live fire training are more disciplined, confident, and capable to handle these extremely stressful situations where moments count.
Utah Valley University (UVU) Recruit Candidate Academy firefighting students experience what they study utilizing UVU’s state of the art live fire facilities. We recognize that in real life situations, decisions must be made in an instant, and training provides firefighters with the capability to make those split-second decisions based on experience they’ve obtained during their education. UVU instructors currently work as emergency responders in their community, allowing them to bring up-to-date training knowledge and experiences to students.
