Distinction Next Steps

Congratulations! You have been accepted into the Global Intercultural Distinction Program. This distinction will help you become more culturally aware and help you interact with those you meet along your career path.

Now that you have been accepted into the program, the following requirements must be completed to receive the G/I Distinction:

  1. Respond to this email acknowledging your acceptance and stating which semester you are planning to graduate, within 1 week of the date of this letter.
  2. Take 3 G/I courses; check your transcripts to see which classes have already counted and then work with your academic advisor, if needed, to plan for the rest.
  3. Enroll and complete the G/I Professionalization class in your last semester. This class is only offered in the Spring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:15, so plan ahead!
  4. Attend, and write a reflection, of at least 5 global or diversity presentations/events.
  5. Complete a co-curricular experience, such as a study abroad or international internship, OR 200 hours of diversity engagement, working in a refugee center is an example.

If at any point you choose to no longer work towards the distinction, you must inform Bryan, in writing, of your intent to withdraw from the program.
