We encourage students to plan for potential tuition increases when applying for financial aid and budgeting for graduate school.
Students attending UVU from another state will initially pay non-resident tuition rates. After 12 continuous months in Utah, students may apply for Utah residency and significantly reduce their tuition costs.
Other residency qualifications may apply.
Paying for graduate school doesn’t have to be overwhelming. UVU offers a variety of scholarships funded by university programs, donors, and private organizations. Many graduate students qualify for scholarships based on financial need, academic achievement, or program participation.
Private Scholarships are available to resident or non-resident students.
Thanks to generous donations from businesses, families, and individuals through UVU’s Make A Gift program, graduate students can access a wide range of privately funded scholarships.

Utah Valley University offers a limited number of competitive tuition waivers to help graduate students offset the cost of their education. These waivers are awarded based on academic merit and are available to both resident and non-resident students, depending on the program.

The WRGP allows students from approved western states to pay in-state (resident) tuition for specific UVU graduate programs. Fully online graduate programs do not participate in WRGP.
