It can be hard to balance parenting with school. Between deadlines and diaper changes, study time and sleepless nights, and paper writing and playtime, it can be challenging to find spaces on campus that support the unique needs of parents.
At Fulton Library, did you know that we have a dedicated family-friendly study suite? Located on the first floor, the Gibson Family Foundation Family Study Suite includes a comfortable and convenient space for studying while accommodating the needs of students with children.
Within the family study suite, we offer the following amenities:
- Restroom and changing station: More private than other restrooms in the library, this restroom provides a changing table for parents and a place to help children who need the facilities.
- Lactation room: Complete with a recliner, table, sink, and changing table, the lactation room is a private space for breastfeeding mothers.
- Play area and children’s books: Including books, toys, and furniture, the play area has items designed to help keep children entertained while parents
- Computers and printer: The study suite has computers and a printer dedicated to helping parents with any kind of schoolwork.
- Individual study rooms: The study suite offers a group of semi-private study rooms, complete with outlets and plugins for laptops, tablets, and phones. Parents can use any available study room to complete projects, attend virtual meetings, or meet with classmates. Each room includes mounted playboards for children and soft-close doors for privacy.
We also provide different events for children at the family study suite. Whether it’s a book reading or a pajama party, we want to make sure that every child feels welcome in the library. This October, come join us for our annual Trunk or Treat, where organizations across campus come together for a night of candy, community, and celebration. Trunk or Treat is completely free for families, and will take place on Thursday, October 30, from 5:30–7:30 pm in the Student Center Ballroom.
If you’re a parent, you’re welcome to come visit our family study suite today. Children must be accompanied at all times, and no reservations are needed—just walk in!
