Share the Love (and the Books): Use Fulton Library’s Interlibrary Loan

February is a time to share the love—and at Fulton Library, that includes sharing access to books, articles, and research materials with nearby libraries.

If you’re ever unable to find a source through Fulton Library’s collection, interlibrary loan (ILL) and Scan & Deliver services provide an easy solution. These services allow UVU students, faculty, and staff to request materials from other libraries or receive digital copies of items the Fulton Library already owns.

Interlibrary Loan

ILL is a free service offered by Fulton Library that enables UVU students, faculty, and staff to request materials not available in the library’s collection. Through ILL, users may receive digital copies of articles or book chapters or borrow physical books from other libraries.

Due dates for books and other materials are determined by the lending library and vary from library to library. UVU students, faculty, and staff are limited to a total of five videos requested or checked out.

You can request a book using the following steps:

  • Log in to the library website with your UVID and password.
  • Complete a request form for the item. Articles are usually delivered electronically within three business days, and books usually arrive within two weeks.
  • You will receive an email notification when the item is available. You can pick up and return books at the first-floor Circulation desk.

Scan & Deliver

Fulton Library’s Scan & Deliver service allows UVU students, faculty, and staff to request digital scans of materials from the library’s print and electronic collections (excluding reserve items).

The Scan & Deliver service applies to most materials. When requesting a Scan & Deliver service, please note the following:

  • Up to 75 pages may be scanned for educational purposes, in accordance with copyright guidelines
  • Library staff will process one chapter or one article per request
  • Requests for multiple chapters or articles should be submitted separately
  • Scanned materials are delivered electronically
