Pardon Our Dust

Utah Valley University is rising! New construction will bring greater opportunities and access to our campus. It may also cause temporary inconveniences.

Construction officially began on the new I-15 pedestrian bridge during the first week of November 2019. The bridge will connect UVU’s main campus with the Orem Central FrontRunner Station. It will provide a safe and sheltered route to the main campus from the west. UDOT, UVU, and UTA expect the project to be completed by December 2020.

To provide appropriate construction conditions, 50 parking spots in the northwest corner of lot L-14 will be fenced off starting Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The groundbreaking for the new Scott C. Keller Building, the new home of the Woodbury School of Business, will occur on Monday, Nov. 11. This facility will provide 205,000 square feet of learning space. It will house the Bloomberg Lab, Entrepreneurship Institute, Money Management Resource Center, SmartLab, and a grand auditorium for lectures and special events.  Classrooms will be outfitted with lecture-capture technology to help students learn remotely.

Parking at the front of the campus in the vicinity of the new business building will be impacted, starting in mid-December.

This semester, there has been an average of 1,000 empty parking spots on campus per day. This is partly due to the free public transportation services offered to UVU students and employees through UTA. UVU students currently make up 46% of student ridership on the Utah Valley Express and are the largest demographic riding FrontRunner trains.

We will send updates as construction continues.
