Utah Valley University Masks Up: Campus Will Welcome Students Back to School With COVID-19 Precautions

In order to safeguard the health of UVU students, staff, and faculty, UVU is providing reusable masks for all full-time employees and disposable masks for students and campus visitors.

Guidance from federal, state, and local health authorities indicates that wearing face coverings (e.g., masks, scarves, gaiters, bandanas, visors) significantly reduces the spread of the COVID-19 virus. In order to safeguard the health of UVU students, staff, and faculty, UVU is providing both reusable and disposable masks for all employees and students, as well as disposable masks for campus visitors.

Need a mask?

Disposable mask distributions will be available in every UVU building on the Orem Campus from August 24 – 28 and August 31 – September 3 from 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. The masks are available to all students, staff, faculty, and other individuals who enter a UVU building and do not have a mask.

Students may also receive one free cloth mask by visiting one of the following locations:

  • Blair Box Office, 6th floor of The Noorda Center (first level) (M-F, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
  • SLWC Control Desk, gym entrance on the second floor of SLWC (M-F, 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Sat., 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • UCCU Center Box Office, garden/basement level (M-TH, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

Students with questions about acquiring a face mask or alternate facial coverings, are encouraged to contact UVU Wellness programs at 801-863-7579 or [email protected].

Mask accommodations

Accommodations to the mask mandate are available for UVU employees and students that are unable to wear masks due to a medical condition. UVU employees must work with HR and UVU students must reach out the Office of Accessibility Services to determine appropriate accommodations as needed.
