For the first time in history, the Utah Valley University wrestling team had two competitors earn All-American honors, as Taylor LaMont placed fifth and Demetrius Romero finished sixth in their respective weight categories at the 2021 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in St. Louis.

LaMont and Romero became the third and fourth NCAA All-Americans in UVU wrestling history, following Benjamin Kjar in 2011 and Jade Rauser in 2016.

"It is exciting to have two All-Americans this year, a first for our program," head coach Greg Williams said. "Taylor and Demetrius both fell short of their goals to become national champions, and that was heartbreaking when they lost in the semis. They put it all out there, and that is what we expect and what they expect in themselves.”
