Utah Valley University President Astrid S. Tuminez will be among the three new inductees into the Silicon Slopes Hall of Fame on Thursday, Feb 24, during the 2021 Silicon Slopes Hall of Fame & Awards program.

Entrepreneur Warren Osborn and Vivint Smart Home founder Todd Pedersen will join Tuminez in the induction ceremony. The three will join 65 business and technology leaders already in the Hall of Fame, each with deep roots in the Beehive State.

“These three individuals have each set an extremely high bar for all to aspire to and to be inspired by as leaders, creators, and inventors,” said Clint Betts, Executive Director of Silicon Slopes. “They join our 65 other inductees who have preceded them, and we invite all to unite with us in welcoming Warren, Todd, and Dr. Tuminez into the Silicon Slopes Hall of Fame.”

President Tuminez assumed her presidential office in 2018 and presides over more than 5,100 employees and over 41,000 students. Since her arrival, UVU has introduced new campus buildings, new educational programs, increased student retention, and grown in its civic engagement.

According to the Silicon Slopes newsroom, the Silicon Slopes Hall of Fame was launched in 1999 by the Utah Technology Council and “identifies and applauds the technology pioneers and breakthrough leaders who have contributed to the ongoing and growing success of Utah and Silicon Slopes.”

Tuminez and her fellow inductees will be on honored at the Silicon Slopes Hall of Fame & Awards program on the evening of Thursday, Feb 24, 2022, at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
