UVU Defeats Colorado in NIT, Will Host Cincinnati in Quarterfinals

Led by senior guard Trey Woodbury’s 25 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, the Utah Valley University men’s basketball team defeated Colorado 81-69 on Sunday night in Boulder, Colo., in the second round of the National Invitational Tournament (NIT).

   

Led by senior guard Trey Woodbury’s 25 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, the Utah Valley University men’s basketball team defeated Colorado 81-69 on Sunday night in Boulder, Colorado in the second round of the National Invitational Tournament (NIT).

The win means the Wolverines will host their NIT quarterfinal matchup against Cincinnati on Wednesday, March 22, at 7 p.m. MT in the UCCU Center. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2. Tickets will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. on Monday morning at gouvu.com

UVU defeated New Mexico on the road in the first round of the NIT prior to facing Colorado. With the win over the Buffaloes, the Wolverines move to 27-8 on the season, the most wins in program history since moving to Division I.
