UVU Alum, Olympic Medalist Chris Fogt Teaches NFL Star Jason Kelce How To Bobsled

Super Bowl winner Jason Kelce has achieved some incredible athletic feats, including his 13-year career in the NFL. But when he wanted to experience what it’s like to ride in an Olympic bobsled, he turned to USA Bobsled head coach and Utah Valley University alumnus Chris Fogt.

In a video published to Kelce’s channel in February, he trains with Fogt and USA Bobsled staff to learn what it takes to be an Olympic bobsledder.

“I thought it would kind of be like a roller coaster. It’s nothing like a roller coaster,” Kelce said after his ride down the track in a four-man bobsled with three members of Team USA. “It’s one of those things that you really don’t know what it feels like until you do it.”

Fogt told Kelce he was impressed with his training and athleticism. “I think that’s the cool thing about sports,” he said in the video. “There’s a lot of crossover and respect between different types of sports.”

Fogt graduated from UVU in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He set six school records in track and field while at UVU. He holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the United States Army and won a silver medal in four-man bobsled at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
