Utah Valley University (UVU) and Revere Health celebrated 38 UVU students who have been accepted into Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) programs this year at the inaugural White Coat Futures banquet.
“We are proud to celebrate our students’ achievements and their dedication, resilience, and passion,” said UVU Provost Wayne Vaught. “Acceptance into MD and DO programs represents one of the most competitive and demanding pathways in higher education, reflecting years of academic excellence and commitment.”
UVU’s hands‑on learning model, personalized advising, and commitment to access have helped students prepare for the rigor of medical school while gaining meaningful, real‑world experience. Students received offers from prestigious institutions from across the country, including Emory University School of Medicine and the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Some UVU graduates will be keeping their talents closer to home, with students accepting offers at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Rocky Vista University in Ivins, Utah.
At the event, pre‑professional advisor Denise Fullmer was presented with the Student Impact Award after students nominated her as the staff or faculty member who most significantly influenced their medical school journeys.
Revere Health CEO Jacque Durfey addressed the students at the event, recognizing their achievements and offering encouragement as they prepare to take the next step in their medical careers.
The event is made possible through UVU’s partnership with Revere Health as part of the UVU Jobs CEO Council. The Jobs CEO Council at UVU brings together leaders from business, education, and the community to cultivate a stronger, more dynamic workforce. By fostering collaboration, we are developing sustainable career pathways at UVU that support Utah’s diverse population and prepare individuals to thrive in high-demand fields.
