From June 26 to 29, students from Utah Valley University (UVU) competed in a variety of trade and technical competitions at SkillsUSA in Atlanta. For over two decades, UVU students have dominated in their respective categories, and as last week’s medals show, this year was no different. UVU was ranked #2 in the nation for post-secondary technical centers, colleges, and universities. UVU won medals in eight different categories (four silver and four bronze medals).

UVU SkillsUSA Director and Professor of Architecture and Engineering Design Darin Taylor expressed his gratitude for UVU students’ hard work as they competed with multiple students from across the nation in categories from cabinetmaking to robotics and automation technology.
“UVU has been ranked in the top five in the nation for 24 years running,” Taylor said. “If this was NCAA basketball or football, UVU would be considered a dynasty. We will do our best to get that national championship back next year, but for now, to be ranked #2 in the nation is still an amazing accomplishment.”
