Utah Valley University (UVU) hosted the Heroes Golf Classic Tournament on May 18, 2026, at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club in Lehi, Utah. The event, organized by UVU's College of Health and Public Service in collaboration with the School of Education and the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism, aimed to honor and support first responders, healthcare providers, and educators. Proceeds will benefit students pursuing careers in these vital fields.
Capita Financial Network was the title partner with a full field of 33 teams participating. Capita founder and CEO Mike Littledike serves on the Wolverines Elevated board and is a supporter of UVU’s Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism.
“Our commitment to supporting students pursuing careers as first responders, healthcare providers, and educators reflects our belief that strong communities depend on those who serve, and as a firm in the financial services industry, we’re honored to play a small role in supporting their long-term success,” said Littledike.
The tournament underscores the university's commitment to recognizing professionals who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting the community. Participants' involvement will demonstrate appreciation for these individuals and contribute to the development of future professionals in these sectors.
“UVU is proud to bring together community partners to recognize and support the individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others,” said Sue Jackson, dean of the UVU College of Health and Public Service. “The Heroes Golf Classic reflects our commitment to preparing the next generation of first responders, healthcare providers, and educators, while honoring the vital contributions these professionals make every day in strengthening our communities.”
