The Marc C. and Deborah H. Bingham Foundation, in partnership with Utah Valley University (UVU), announced the establishment of the Bingham Family Clinic today — a free, full-service community medical clinic set to open this winter on UVU’s Orem Campus.
“The Bingham Family Clinic represents the best way to connect education and compassion,” said Astrid S. Tuminez, president of UVU. “We are building a future where every person, regardless of circumstance, has access to quality healthcare. The clinic will also prepare UVU students to lead with skill, empathy, and purpose. We are honored to work with the Bingham Foundation to create this space for exceptional care. I have known Debbie and Marc Bingham since my first days at UVU — they represent to me the best and most empathetic of community leaders.”
Located in the Health Professions Building on UVU’s West Campus, the clinic will provide a place of healing and education to those who otherwise may not have access to the medical attention and care they need.
Services will include primary care, scheduled specialty appointments, dental hygiene, and on-site pharmacy assistance. The clinic is expected to operate five days a week and is designed to serve individuals without access to medical insurance, with no obligation to pay for the care they receive.
This initiative meets a vital need for medically underserved residents of Utah County by expanding services and strengthening connections to local community resources. It will also offer UVU students valuable, hands-on learning opportunities in a real-world clinical setting.
Clinic Highlights
Deeply Personal for Bingham
For Marc and Debbie Bingham, this effort is deeply personal. As a young boy, Marc’s life was saved after a traveling doctor — by pure chance — intervened when Marc suffered severe burns. That experience shaped the Bingham family’s enduring commitment to accessible, quality healthcare.
“Our vision is simple,” said Marc Bingham. “Healthcare for everyday people — regardless of financial situation. My own life was saved because of access to care, and we want to make sure no one in our community is left behind.”
A Vision Rooted in Compassion and Practicality
The clinic is more than a healthcare facility — it is a model of public-private partnership and mutual mission alignment. Both the Bingham Family Clinic and UVU embrace the mantra: “Come as you are.”
The Foundation sees this new venture as a bold next step. Plans include remodeling the space starting in July, with an anticipated opening in late 2025 or early 2026. The facility is being designed to be welcoming, dignified, and built for long-term service and education.
“This is not just a clinic,” said Dr. Woodward. “It’s a commitment to every hardworking individual who has fallen through the cracks of a complicated system. From the uninsured subcontractor to families choosing between food and medicine — we are here for them.”
Benefits to the Community
With a mission to “promote health and wellness for everyday people,” the Bingham Family
Clinic is poised to become a cornerstone of compassionate care and educational excellence
