Utah Valley University’s Department of Nursing is proud to announce that its Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs have successfully achieved full accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) through the year 2032.

This significant milestone reflects the department’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, student success, and continuous improvement in nursing education. The ACEN accreditation process is a rigorous evaluation that ensures nursing programs meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. UVU’s nursing programs not only met these standards—they exceeded them.

All three programs—ASN, BSN, and MSN—received zero citations, a rare and commendable achievement that underscores the strength of UVU’s curriculum, faculty, and student support systems. In addition, the ASN program received special recognition for an area of strength in student retention, with rates consistently exceeding 90%. This distinction highlights the department’s dedication to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students thrive.

Dr. Katie Bagley, Chair of the Department of Nursing, expressed her pride in the accomplishment:
“This accreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students. It affirms that UVU is a leader in nursing education and that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the healthcare industry.”

The ACEN accreditation ensures that UVU nursing graduates are eligible for licensure and advanced practice opportunities across the country, and it enhances the university’s reputation as a premier institution for nursing education in the region.

As the department looks ahead, it remains committed to innovation, excellence, and expanding opportunities for students at every level of their nursing careers. With accreditation secured through 2032, UVU’s nursing programs are poised to continue shaping the future of healthcare—one nurse at a time.
