With a focus on a diverse range of student stories and achievements, Utah Valley University President Astrid S. Tuminez reminded faculty and staff of UVU’s mission as an integrated teaching university and community college during her Talk With Tuminez presentation on Nov. 11.

"We are a university that means what it says when we say, 'Come as you are — UVU is a place for you,'" President Tuminez said.

Dr. Tuminez shared a number of student stories from the Wolverine Stories project to highlight the range of experiences UVU has provided students from widely differing backgrounds.

Other presentation topics included the launch of EverGREEN, UVU's first comprehensive fundraising campaign; a recap of several conferences UVU has hosted this semester, including the UN "Why It Matters" Conference, the Utah Valley Growth and Prosperity Summit, and the UVU Conference on Suicide Prevention; and interviews with students from the Excellence in Innovation Initiative, the UVU Esports team, and UVU women's soccer.
