Mark Seastrand launched the Fall 2025 Halladay Lecture Series at UVU, sharing entrepreneurial values, problem-solving strategies, and keys to success.
The Fall 2025 Reed and Christine Halladay Entrepreneurship Lecture Series began with Mark Seastrand, adjunct professor and entrepreneur, who welcomed students to the course with energy and practical wisdom.
He emphasized that throughout the semester, students would gain unique insights directly from seasoned business leaders willing to share their personal journeys.
Mark introduced students to the six essential traits that define successful entrepreneurs:
Problem Solver – Recognizing and addressing challenges head-on.
Resource Builder – Leveraging resources to create opportunity.
Fearless but Not Reckless – Taking bold yet calculated risks.
Action Taker – Moving forward with determination and effort.
Learner from Success and Failure – Treating every outcome as a growth opportunity.
Networker – Building meaningful relationships and connections.
He also encouraged students to ask four guiding questions whenever tackling a problem:
1. What’s the problem?
2. Who has the problem?
3. What is your solution?
4. How will it be implemented?
Mark’s lecture set the tone for an exciting semester of growth, learning, and inspiration. His message reminded students that entrepreneurship is less about perfection and more about taking action, learning through experience, and building strong networks along the way.
We extend our thanks to Reed and Christine Halladay for making this transformative series possible for UVU Woodbury School of Business students. Want to explore more entrepreneurial insights from industry leaders?
