UVU Financial Planning student Jenna Eileen Smith awarded $15K Schwab RIA Talent Advantage Scholarship, recognizing future leaders in financial advising.
Jenna Eileen Smith, a Financial Planning & Wealth Management major at Utah Valley University’s (UVU) Woodbury School of Business (WSB), has been awarded the prestigious $15,000 RIA Talent Advantage Student Scholarship, funded by Schwab Advisor Services in partnership with the Charles Schwab Foundation.
The competitive, nationally recognized scholarship is typically awarded to only a
dozen students across the country each year, with recipients chosen for their academic
excellence, passion for the registered investment advisor (RIA) industry, and potential
to make a lasting impact on the profession.
“This scholarship is an incredible honor,” Smith said. “My time in UVU’s Financial
Planning program has solidified my commitment to the RIA profession and to helping
individuals and families achieve financial security. I’m excited to continue learning
and to use my education to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
“At the Woodbury School of Business, we are committed to helping our students reach
their highest potential,” said Bob Allen, dean of the Woodbury School of Business.
“Jenna’s recognition is a shining example of how hard work, engaged learning, and
strong industry partnerships can create life-changing opportunities for our students.”
“UVU’s Financial Planning program consistently attracts driven, high-achieving students
who excel in national competitions and go on to make a meaningful impact in the profession,”
said Dr. Rachel Bi, chair of UVU’s Department of Finance and Economics. “The continued
generosity of the Charles Schwab Foundation enables us to provide transformative educational
experiences for students like Jenna, helping them gain the skills, knowledge, and
industry connections to thrive in their careers.”
The RIA Talent Advantage Student Scholarship, now in its fifth year, is part of Schwab’s broader effort to expand opportunities
for students and promote diversity within the financial services industry. Open to
undergraduates in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year, the scholarship is awarded
to students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and a strong interest
in the RIA profession.
