Alexandre Auger, Supply Chain Vice President of bioMérieux, shared his expertise in global logistics, operational strategy, and large-scale decision-making across the Americas during the Reed and Christine Executive Lecture Series.

Alexandre Auger shared insights from his experience leading large-scale supply chain operations, emphasizing strategy, decision-making, and real-world problem-solving.
Alexandre earned his master's degree in computer and information sciences from INSA Lyon and began his career with international experience, including time working in Spain. Over more than 15 years with bioMérieux, he has developed expertise across logistics, planning, and customer order management, ultimately overseeing the end-to-end supply chain across the Americas — from Patagonia to Alaska.
During the lecture, Alexandre provided students with a clear picture of how a global organization operates. While bioMérieux is headquartered in France, he explained that Salt Lake City serves as a major hub for the Americas' operations, employing thousands of individuals and supporting large-scale distribution and service efforts.

A key theme of his message was understanding what you value in a workplace. Alexandre explained that large companies offer broad opportunities and global reach, while smaller companies allow for more direct influence on strategy and decision-making. He noted that bioMérieux provides a balance between the two, which has contributed to his long-term commitment to the organization.
Alexandre also shared detailed insights into the operational side of business, including metrics and real-world data that demonstrated how supply chains function at scale. He walked students through a case study from his company, outlining a complex challenge and explaining how his team approached and solved it step by step. This example reinforced the importance of structured thinking, process, and adaptability in operations.
Throughout the lecture, Alexandre emphasized that success in operations comes from following disciplined processes while remaining flexible enough to respond to challenges. His perspective highlighted how strong systems and thoughtful decision-making drive performance across an organization.

The Woodbury School of Business thanks Alexandre Auger for sharing his experience and expertise with UVU students. His message reinforced the value of strategic thinking, operational discipline, and understanding how large organizations function in a global environment.
